Expressing yourself through art and visual journaling is a deeply satisfying practice – a place to tell your story and share your life through image and word.
There are NO RULES in art journaling, just opportunities for creative play!
We meet twice a month on Wednesday evening (7:00 to 9:00 pm) at a local cafe. This group is offered via Meetup*; dates and location are visible to group members.
*Meet-up is free and easy to join. Follow this link: www.meet-up.com and then look for our group: Expressive Arts & Creative Journaling
“I hope you will go out and let stories, that is life, happen to you, and that you will work with these stories from your life – – your life – – not someone else’s life – – water them with your blood and tears and your laughter till they bloom, till you yourself burst into bloom. That is the work. The only work.” ~ Clarissa Pinkola Estes
I invite you to watch this wonderful video about Paulus Berensohn’s journal and bookmaking process. So very beautiful – I would have loved to take a workshop with him.
Paulus taught at the Penland School of Crafts (the “monastery of the hand,” as he called it) in North Carolina, where his model of education was to ‘invite wonder, together.’ He named his journals, Soul’s Kitchen – “a place where whatever is drawing your attention could mingle with everything else on those pages and help you see where the soul is leading you. Make a space for everything you are, without judgement, inside the journal pages, and the next question will present itself.” YES!
Paulus Berensohn passed away on June 16, 2017.
