Last month, I was able to jump on board as a last-minute participant in the 6 Degrees of Creativity Random Acts of Art Adventure. When the invite to participate first went out, I was super busy with assignments and just couldn’t see adding even one more thing to my plate. So for months now, I’ve followed the pouch’s journey across central and eastern US, to Canada’s east coast, a few stops in Ontario, and then…I heard it was coming to Edmonton!
Yes, the pouch stopped here – filled to overflowing with creative goodness! Our instructions were to fill it back up with artsy goodies for the next person on the list and mail it out ASAP to keep the adventure going. Then, we were to create a piece of art using the materials in the pouch, and pass it on to someone as a random act of art. There was also a Passport Book that we could add to…such a fun project!
As luck would have it, the pouch arrived 2 days before we were leaving for vacation! It was a wild scramble to get things done before we left, and not just for me… the other participant had to rush her part before passing it on. Whew! My finished art piece would have to wait until I got back, but the pouch was on its way to Minnesota that same afternoon.
I decided to make a little journal out of the paperback book that was included, and use something from the pouch on each of the pages. But first the book needed to be prepared – pages removed, gessoed, painted, and reinforced.
This was a super fun project – so glad to have been able to get on board (thanks, Gretchen! 🙂 )
