“Our stories contain the answers to each others’ questions. What I cannot find in searching through the riches and rubble of my own life may become apparent to me in the witnessing of yours. It’s through our stories that we begin to name ourselves, to say who we are under all the social trappings, and to emerge from those trappings like a butterfly from a chrysalis. We are midwives, in a way, to each other’s rebirth.” ~ Jan Phillips
I offer programs that invite possibility for healing and personal growth within Edmonton and the surrounding area, and would love to bring creativity and the arts to your group or organization. Expressive art exercises may include visual art making, creative writing/journaling, poetry, music and movement – and can be customized to suit individual or group needs.
Community Arts Programs:
When community gathers, the creative imagination is engaged and harvested to bring inspiration, healing to self and others, and a renewed vitality back to the community. Expressive Arts isn’t arts and crafts or ‘new age’ – healing and transformation through art is one of the oldest cultural practices in every region of the world. In an expressive arts group, fun and creative ways are provided for participants to express and release emotions all at the same time. Everyone contributes, shares, and witnesses the gifts that emerge when the creative spirit is released.
I am available to speak to your club or organization about using the arts for self-care, guidance, and healing. Playful exercises that invite curiosity, exploration, and self-expression will be included to provide participants an experience of expressive arts and the ‘shift’ that occurs when the creative spirit is engaged.
Art and creativity are Soul medicine, flowing like a river through every life situation, providing an opening to whatever needs attention and transformation.
Imagine what might happen if there were creative sanctuaries and spaces for soul medicine in every community…
