My Story

Welcome! My name is Rosann Whale, and I live and work in the beautiful prairie city of Edmonton, AB, located on Treaty 6 Territory.

Through the years my creative voice has always found an outlet: using needle and thread, pen and paper, scissors and glue, paint and brush. For almost three decades, I’ve facilitated spiritually-based creative workshops for women and teens using elements of expressive arts long before I was aware of or trained in the field. I believe in the value of life-long learning and am passionate about my work; aspiring to engage with life, nature, and my creative self as deeply as possible.

Creativity is like freedom: once you taste it, you cannot live without it. It is a transformative force, enhancing self-esteem and self-empowerment”. ~ Natalie Rogers

My work is rooted in the belief that art taps into our own deep wellspring of wisdom and imagination, and becomes the catalyst that guides us towards transformation and healing. Everyone is an artist, and connection to the wonder of one’s own creative process is accessible to all. Given an invitation, ongoing practice, and a safe nurturing place to do this, the results are often amazing…

A Way of Knowing ~ Deep Play ~ Soul Medicine.

Through in-person classes, I invite opportunities for building community and creative connections within Edmonton and the surrounding area.  I love to provide space for art and soul medicine to unfold, and guide others in discovering their own creative voice.

Other services I offer include Community Arts Programs and Speaking Engagements – more about that here.

I am professionally trained as an Expressive Arts Consultant Educator at the Prairie Institute of Expressive Arts Therapy (PIEAT), and am a member of IEATA, the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association. I adhere to IEATA’s Ethical Guidelines and am currently working toward my REACE designation. As a trained SoulCollage® facilitator and Regional Co-ordinator for Alberta, I abide by the Principles of SoulCollage®.
