About Me

RosannWelcome and thanks for visiting. My name is Rosann Whale and I live in the beautiful prairie city of Edmonton, Alberta, as a wife, mother, grandmother, artist and workshop facilitator.

Through the years, my creative voice has always found an outlet: using needle and thread, pen and paper, scissors and glue, or paint and brush. Over the past three decades, I’ve facilitated spiritual and creative workshops for both women and teens, using elements of expressive arts long before I knew there was an expressive arts field.  A favourite poem by Mary Oliver – The Summer Day – opened doors of possibility and continue to guide this next chapter in my life.

“Creativity is like freedom: once you taste it, you cannot live without it. It is a transformative force, enhancing self-esteem and self-empowerment”. ~ Natalie Rogers

My work is rooted in the belief that art-making taps into our deep wellspring of creativity, wisdom, and imagination, and becomes the catalyst that guides us towards transformation and healing. Everyone is an artist, and connection to the wonder of one’s own creative process is accessible to all. Given an invitation, regular practice, and a safe nurturing place to do this, the results are often amazing…

A Way of Knowing.       Deep Play.

Soul Medicine.

“We cannot change the world by a new plan, project or idea. We cannot even change other people by our convictions, stories, advice, proposals; but we can offer a space where people are encouraged to disarm themselves, to lay aside their occupations and preoccupations and listen with attention and care to the voices speaking in their own centre.” ~ Henri Nouwen

Through in-person classes, I invite opportunity for building creative connections and community within Edmonton and the surrounding area.  I love to guide others in discovering their own creative voice, and provide spaces for art and soul medicine to unfold.
